Tips for maintaining a healthy stomach
#1. Do not skip your meal
Our stomach lining has glands that produce stomach acid and other important compounds to break down the foods that we consumed and protects us from infection. However, the acid is strong enough to damage our stomach. Make sure you do not skip your meal because when the stomach is empty, there is nothing for the acid to break down, thus it will start to damage the lining in the stomach and causes ulcer. Worse still, it can cause inner bleeding in your stomach can lead to irreversible health damage.
#2. Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of water to dilute the acid that is produced in the stomach so that it will not damage the lining of the stomach.
#3. Stop smoking, drinking alcohol and excessive coffee
Liquor, coffee, and cigarettes can lead to inflammation and thus stomach ulcers and heartburn will occur.
#4. Do not lay on the bed right after eating
When foods enter into the stomach, more acid will be produced in order to digest the food. Therefore, if we lay down after we eat, there is probability that acid reflux may occur and lead to heartburn.
#5. Eat slowly
Eat slowly to have a better digestion.
